A Bunch of Links...
I know you didn't come to Henslers.org to learn about me...
you probably clicked on the "Joe" button by accident, or because we didn't have any new pictures of the kids today.
But you're here now, so I might as well take advantage of this opportunity to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me.
And the easiest way to do that is to provide links to all the important stuff in my life (other than Becky and the kids, of course). So here goes...
Please note -- all links off of "Henslers.org" will open a new browser window (it'd be terrible if you couldn't find your way back
here, right?)
Joe's Organizations
- Indiana University Alumni Association - Without a doubt, the organization
I've spent the most time with over the past 10 years. IUAA does a lot of terrific work for today's IU students, and for old
alumni has-beens like me. I currently serve on the IUAA National Executive Council, and the Marketing Advisory Committee (big surprise there).
- Residence Halls Alumni Association - I was on this group's Board for eight
years -- they're the only "dorm" alumni association in the world! RHAA is a great way for former halls student government, staff,
and long-time residents (like the Ashton-Hershey III "Wing from Hell") to keep in touch, and the Greenleaf-Nelson Fund provides significant
financial support for students.
- IU Kelley School of Business - I spend a lot of time working with the Kelley School, both as
a recruiter for P&G and as a member of the Board of Advisors for the new Center for Brand Leadership.
- Marketing Science Institute - This is an industry group of major marketing companies throughout the US and world.
Needless to say, P&G is a member company, and I represent Procter on the MSI Educational Roundtable (which is a collection of the Marketing training leaders from
~10 MSI member firms).
- Immaculate Heart of Mary Church - This is our parish; both Becky and I are very involved here!
Sports, etc.
- The Junior Circuit AL Roto League - Click here to
see my team, which actually finished in the money this year for the first time since the mid-90's...
- Mas Cervezas Por Favor NL Roto League - Here's the granddaddy
of P&G Roto Baseball Leagues (well, maybe not the Granddaddy, but the MCPF has been around for over 10 years). We finally hung it up in this League,
seeing as how our last pennant was in 1998.
- The Goat League - Our football league, which has also
been around for over 12 years. I do a little better in this one, though.
- St. Louis Blues - Rooting for these guys is like rooting for the Buffalo Bills.
The Blues have made the Stanley Cup playoffs for 25 consecutive years (best active streak in professional sports), but they have zero Cups to show for it.
In fact, they haven't even made it to the Cup Finals since 1970. By pure random chance, they'll win it all one of these years...
And Last but not Least...
Procter & Gamble - They make soap and detergent and shampoo and stuff. And I get paid to help.
